About the Role
~1 min readThe Brand Events Officer is responsible for the planning and operational delivery of key University of Tasmania events, including Open Days, School Leaver Expos, Graduations, and other student engagement activities. This includes the development of detailed event plans, coordination of logistics and suppliers, management of event resources and inventory, and hands‑on involvement in event setup, delivery, and pack-down. This role also requires day-to-day operational marketing/brand awareness, engagement, and merchandise management.
Responsibilities

- →Coordinate post-event activities including budget reconciliation, surveys, and communications.
- →Ensure all event activities comply with WHS requirements, risk management processes and relevant policies.
- →Communicate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and partners.
- →Coordinate merchandise operations, including the planning and delivery of pop-up shops and supporting online initiatives.
What we’re looking for:
- →Experience leading safe event setup and pack‑down, including supervising manual handling and use of event equipment.
- →Strong background in planning and coordinating event logistics – able to manage schedules, resources, and on‑site delivery.
- →Confident in operating and troubleshooting AV and event infrastructure and using event management systems.
- →Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, suppliers, and service providers.
- →Understanding of risk management and WHS, including risk assessments and other compliance documents.
- →Availability to work outside of business hours and weekend work on a cyclical basis.
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
