About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Manager, Professional Experience Placement in the School of Education, which is part of the Arts and Society Portfolio. The Manager, Professional Experience Placement supports the Portfolio’s strategic initiative to grow and enhance high-quality placement experiences, which is a key component to support student learning and development within their course.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Professional Experience administrative team, overseeing the delivery of support across all student placement end-to-end lifecycle activities.
  • Lead and develop the Professional Experience administrative team, establishing a values-based, people-centric environment that supports all staff and students to achieve their best individually and collectively.
  • Effectively mitigate risk by ensuring compliance with UTAS and external policy, including but not limited to, adherence to the UTAS PEP Procedure, management of student and stakeholder compliance, and external accreditation requirements.
  • Provide high level and strategic advice, guidance and recommendations in relation to improvements, changes and new approaches to Professional Experience programs across the Portfolio.
  • Make key and knowledgeable contributions to the design and delivery of strategic and operational plans, policy and procedure in the area of Professional Experience, in consultation with senior academic and professional staff within the Portfoilio and wider University.

­What we’re looking for:

  • A bachelor’s level qualification with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven team building and team leadership skills, with an ability to work constructively and an ability to lead a continuous improvement culture.
  • Experience with policy interpretation and implementation, including the ongoing review of administrative processes and procedures to ensure they provide a quality approach.
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to research and analyse information in order to present data, and write effective reports, plans, submissions and correspondence.
  • Experience supporting University professional experience placement programs an advantage, not essential.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professionally and culturally sensitive manner.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
