Senior Project Lead

The Peter Underwood Centre for Educational Attainment is a partnership between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian State Government, associated with the Office of the Governor of Tasmania, and focused on improving education outcomes across the state. The Centre leads the University’s strategic focus on education transitions and attainment.

The Senior Project Lead manages the coordination and delivery of a pilot project funded by the Aram and Lailani Foundation.  The fixed-term project will design, implement, and evaluate the community-led program in a regional Tasmanian community. Leading and partnering with the Project Lead and broader Centre team, the Senior Project Lead oversees the integration of project activities, ensuring alignment across research, community engagement, and program delivery. This includes supporting a community-embedded model of practice where University staff work alongside local stakeholders to understand community strengths and aspirations, co-design learning opportunities, and connect these with University programs such as the Children’s University, as well as regional Study and Jobs Hubs.

• →Achieve project milestones and delivery of project outputs as defined in the project contract documents.
• →Coordinate project activities including planning, oversight of evaluation processes, data management and monitoring budgets.
• →Establish and maintain high-quality project and research documentation to support delivery, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• →Contribute to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
• →Ensure successful delivery of project initiatives and associated events, including preparation and presentation of information to stakeholders.

­What we’re looking for:

• →A relevant tertiary qualification in social sciences, health, education, project management, or related discipline, or a combination of extensive experience leading complex, community-focused projects.
• →High-level communication, interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to build strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• →Proven expertise and success in leading and delivering complex projects or programs, including monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• →Strong organisational and leadership capability in dynamic environments.
• →Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging programs, with a strong commitment to child rights and child-safe practices.
• →Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
• →Current driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel and work in the community.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
