Step into a day in the life of a Buyer at Trenery where product, strategy and customer insight come together to shape every collection.
From analysing trends and identifying opportunities, to building assortments and managing the product lifecycle, you will drive commercially successful ranges that resonate with our customer.
Working closely with Design, Planning and suppliers, you will bring products to market from concept to launch. If you have a strong commercial mindset, a passion for product and a keen eye for emerging trends, we would love to hear from you!
- Serve as the voice and advocate for the customer, conducting research into market trends and competitors to understand the customer and inform buying decisions
- Build a compelling and differentiated assortment that resonates with target customers in terms of quality, style, price point and perceived value
- Display entrepreneurial approach to the business and proactively seeking and suggesting opportunities to improve the product range to drive financial performance and maximum sales
- Deliver Product Assortments that can drive overall Category/ Channel goals – driving the commerciality of the Product Ranges to ensure they deliver sales/Brand metrics. Ensure Category Product Assortments/Ranges meet all Margin KPI’s Facilitate innovation in Category Product mixes through Range assortments to maximise Category sales
- Conduct Seasonal Reviews and analyse product performance. Make recommendations from Monthly/ Quarterly SWOTS including reviewing Best and Worst sellers, style and colour analysis
- Responsible for trading, adjusting plans to drive sales and manage in-season performance, ensuring supplier relationships are optimised and cost negotiations meet margin targets
- Responsible for revenue, inventory, and profit of categories within a brand through trend identification, buying/assortment plans, and category management.
- Experience in buying with a proven track record of delivering successful buying strategies in a fast-paced retail or omnichannel environment
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute buying strategies that align with business goals and market trends
- Strong understanding of financial metrics, including revenue, margin, and inventory management, to drive profitable buying decisions
- Strong understanding of customer preferences, leveraging data-driven insights to create product assortments that resonate with target audiences
- Proven expertise in costing, margin analysis, and trading to set profitable annual and seasonal assortments.
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally with Design, Planning, Product Development.
