Lead the strategic direction of the organisation’s people systems landscape, focusing on optimisation, automation, and future capability rather than day-to-day administration. This role identifies improvement opportunities, enhances data quality, and reduces manual effort, while shaping a forward-looking people technology roadmap aligned to business and People strategy. Partnering with People Operations, IT, and key stakeholders, it provides expert advice on systems, investment priorities, and technology decisions to ensure people systems enable growth and better workforce outcomes.

 

• Conduct end-to-end review of the people systems landscape, assessing integration, data quality, user experience, and overall system health
• Map and maintain current system architecture, identifying gaps, risks, and inefficiencies across platforms (e.g. Pay Global, PageUp, ServiceNow, Dayforce)
• Analyse recurring issues and manual workarounds to uncover opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Develop and maintain a forward-looking people technology roadmap aligned to business and People strategy
• Translate workforce and business needs into clear technology requirements and investment priorities
• Research emerging HR tech trends and vendor capabilities to inform strategic decision-making
• Build business cases for system enhancements, upgrades, and replacements, including cost and benefit analysis
• Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy
• Lead or support delivery of digital solutions including workflows, low-code/no-code tools, and system integrations
• Champion self-service capability across people systems to enhance employee and manager experience
• Own strategic vendor relationships and partner with IT on system governance, architecture, and integration
• Represent People Operations in technology forums and contribute to enterprise-level decisions
• Oversee external implementation partners and consultants to ensure quality delivery and value
• Build system capability across the People team through guidance, training, and accessible resources
