US Conec is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and continuously improve environmental, health, safety, and ergonomics programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing operational risk, strengthening workplace safety culture, and driving continuous improvement through close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and site leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Ergonomics programs that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to EHS team members, including Safety Coordinators and the EHS Ergonomics Specialist.
  • Serve as the primary EHS subject matter expert and trusted advisor to leadership, Operations, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Establish and manage EHS goals, budgets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintain all required permits, reporting processes, documentation, and compliance records.
  • Lead internal audits, external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, workplace inspections, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain critical safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication, Powered Industrial Trucks, PPE, Electrical Safety, and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Oversee contractor safety programs, environmental compliance efforts, emergency response planning, and physical security coordination.
  • Evaluate new equipment, manufacturing processes, and facility modifications to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Manage ergonomics and occupational health programs designed to reduce injury risk and improve employee well-being.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and partner with teams to implement engineering and administrative controls.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene activities and support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs, new hire safety orientation, leadership coaching, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze safety and environmental performance metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Lead Safety Committees, corrective action programs, and employee recognition initiatives that strengthen safety culture.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Human Resources to enhance workplace safety, environmental performance, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; technical, engineering, environmental, or related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of Environmental Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams, programs, projects, or EHS initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience developing and managing EHS programs within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships across all levels and functions of an organization.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification.
  • Experience managing environmental compliance programs and regulatory reporting.
  • Background in ergonomics, industrial hygiene, or occupational health initiatives.
  • Experience leading site-wide continuous improvement and safety culture initiatives.
  • Technical or engineering background within a manufacturing environment.
