The Mechanical Engineering Department at the “Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología – UTEC”, Lima, Peru, invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in Mechanical Engineering.
We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas, but not limited to: (1) mechanical design, (2) computational mechanics, (3) finite element methods (FEM), (4) mechanical vibrations, and (5) materials engineering. Desired courses to be taught include Dynamics, Statics, Mechanical Vibrations, Fluid Mechanics, and other undergraduate or graduate courses related to the Mechanical Engineering curriculum.
Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, obtain competitive external funding, establish an active cross-disciplinary research program, and contribute through service to the profession, the department, and UTEC. Applicants with a strong scholarly background and research potential are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
~1 min readPhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields;
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Experience writing journal publications;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body;
Excellent English language skills (Spanish is a plus).
