We're seeking a qualified Journeyman Electrician to support electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting activities at our nuclear facility. This role calls for a strong safety culture, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a highly regulated environment. Experience in oil and gas or other heavy industrial settings is highly valued and translates directly to nuclear operations. You'll work alongside engineering, operations, and maintenance partners to keep plant systems running safely and reliably.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant systems including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, power distribution, and control circuits.
- →Execute work in compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, environmental, and site-specific procedures.
- →Follow company work control processes, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and radiological protection requirements.
- →Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- →Support scheduled maintenance, forced outages, inspections, and plant modifications.
- →Accurately document work activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions in maintenance systems.
- →Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and other maintenance personnel.
- →Maintain tools, equipment, and housekeeping standards in all work areas.
- You demonstrate strong individual accountability and a consistent commitment to safety and compliance.
- You troubleshoot effectively, applying analytical thinking to electrical issues across plant systems.
- You communicate clearly with engineering, operations, and maintenance partners, both verbally and in writing.
- You work effectively independently and as part of a team in a non-union environment.
- You bring discipline to documentation, ensuring work activities and corrective actions are accurately captured.
- You take pride in maintaining high standards for tools, equipment, and housekeeping in your work areas.
Requirements
~1 min read- State-recognized Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 6–10 years of industrial electrical experience.
- Strong understanding of NEC and industrial electrical standards.
- Prior experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment, power generation, or similarly regulated facilities.
- Ability to meet site access, background, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime and outage assignments.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, confined space entry, and extended periods on feet.
- Comfortable working in a nuclear power generation facility with exposure to high-voltage electrical systems and industrial hazards, and willing to use required PPE in accordance with radiological and industrial safety standards.
Requirements
~1 min read- Previous nuclear facility experience or nuclear electrical training.
- Experience with hazardous and classified locations and intrinsically safe systems.
- Familiarity with nuclear quality programs, work management, and corrective action processes.
- Experience with PLCs, DCS, or plant instrumentation and controls.
- Radiation Worker training or the ability to obtain certification.
