Vast is looking for a(n) CNC Press Brake and Roller Operator, reporting to the Production Manager, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Responsible for safe operating the brake press, shear, fit-up and roller operations including high end aerospace aluminum and steels
- →Responsible for proper setup and programing of machine and verification of dies prior to forming
- →Giving feedback on formability to engineering for design improvement
- →Training other technicians on rolling, brake press techniques as needed
- →Maintains clean working environment and follows instructions
Requirements
~2 min read- 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years operating a CNC Press brake
- 2+ years rolling form parts
- Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
- Prolonged periods of standing, pushing/pulling, lifting, and operating press
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Ability to roll or bump-form high strength aerospace steel and aluminum panels into cylinder and conic sections with tight tolerances
- Ability to form high strength alloys
- 5+ years forming experience (any industry)
- Ability to read and interpret sheet metal drawings and work instructions
- Experience with thick stock (up to 1”) and machined panel forming
