The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing general ledger activities, and supporting the month-end close process. This role ensures proper allocation of fixed assets, reconciles accounts, and helps prepare financial reports as needed. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- →Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation schedules, ensuring proper classification and reporting.
- →Post and reconcile cash transactions, ensuring accuracy of bank and cash accounts.
- →Perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- →Prepare financial reports, including month-end and ad hoc reporting for management.
- →Lead key components of the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- →Identify and investigate discrepancies or errors in financial records.
- →Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- →Assist with audit requests and provide necessary documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- OR 3 years of related experience
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with fixed assets, general ledger reconciliation, and cash management is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP). Experience with SAP is a plus.
