Who We Are:
Venus Aerospace is revolutionizing rocket engine propulsion. With the first generational leap in rocket engine technology since Apollo, our proprietary Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine and Venus Detonation Ramjets deliver historic efficiency and performance across aerospace applications. We are building the next generation of propulsion platforms that enable breakthrough capabilities in space, defense, and commercial high-speed flight. Our team thrives on solving the toughest engineering challenges and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in aerospace. At Venus, we’re looking for bold engineers and innovators who want to make history and redefine the future of propulsion.

The Role: Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Venus Aerospace’s growing finance operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role ensures accurate and timely accounts payable processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping scale accounting systems and processes.
  • You will be responsible for accounts payable, including invoice management, bill pay, account coding, and monitoring aged items. You’ll be a primary contact to vendors regarding outstanding invoices.
  • You will be the primary source of data entry to our accounting software via reconciliation of credit card statements, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation functions.
  • You will work closely with various team members to determine appropriate coding of daily transactions in accordance with GAAP.
  • You’ll also prepare month-end reconciliations and assist on other reporting projects as needed.
  • As Venus continues to grow, you’ll play a key role in building the accounting process to scale with the Company, which will include the adoption and implementation of new software platforms. This role will have a lot of room for growth and development as the business environment changes.
  • 1-2+ years of experience processing accounts payable and/or expense management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with various levels of management
  • Excel skills and experience required; comfort with MS-Office or Confluence platforms is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking skills required to analyze and apply GAAP using independent thought and research
  • You have a high level of comfort working collaboratively and partnering with teams across departments
  • You are flexible and have the ability to adapt quickly to changes to company or team goals.
  • You hold an active CPA license or are pursuing one
  • Experience working with Quickbooks, Procurify, Gusto, Brex, or other web-based expense management software.
