~1 min readThe Financial Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the hospital’s financial accuracy, medical records management, and overall client experience. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with billing and record-keeping workflows, and the ability to communicate professionally with clients regarding estimates, balances, insurance claims, payment inquiries, and medical record requests.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Audit and reconcile patient records and invoices for accuracy; verify and correct charges on open and inpatient accounts.
- →Maintain daily inpatient billing, prepare discharge invoices, and provide clients with billing updates.
- →Educate staff on charge entry and payment protocols.
- →Process and finalize employee and municipal invoices, including applicable discounts and payment follow-up.
- →Communicate with clients regarding balances, estimates, deposits, and payment policies; assist with financial concerns.
- →Manage accounts receivable, including payment plans, collections, overdue account follow-up, and referrals to collection agencies or attorneys.
- →Serve as liaison with credit providers, collection agencies, donation/rescue organizations, and municipalities.
- →Coordinate cremation services with Abbey Glen, including logistics and invoice auditing.
- →Maintain accurate fee schedules, ensuring product codes align with Veritas standards; identify and adjust discrepancies with management.
- →Process insurance claims and follow up as needed.
- →Manage pet remains awaiting cremation, including client communication, payment collection, and abandonment procedures.
Requirements
~1 min read- Veterinary hospital experience required
- Specialty and/or emergency veterinary experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience in billing, accounts receivable, insurance processing, client service, or medical records preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy in billing, records, numbers, and data entry
- Microsoft Excel experience required
- Experience with veterinary practice management software, including ImproMed, preferred
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
