Reporting to the Associate Director of Quality Engineering, the Associate Manager – Software Quality Engineering is responsible for leading and overseeing quality engineering activities across assigned product teams while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, quality standards, and applicable labor regulations. This role partners closely with the Associate Director of Quality Engineering to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of VitalHub’s quality engineering frameworks, standards, and best practices across all assigned teams.
The Associate Manager / Manager is accountable for ensuring all testing activities align with documented processes, established quality methodologies, and project or release timelines to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Working collaboratively with QE Leads, Quality Engineering teams, Development teams, and Product Management, the role drives quality assurance initiatives, promotes process consistency, and supports continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute quality engineering strategies, standards, and best practices across software projects.
- Lead, mentor, and manage Quality Engineering teams, including resource planning, performance management, and professional development.
- Drive technical excellence in automation, performance, security, accessibility, and overall software testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Development teams to refine testing approaches, timelines, and quality objectives.
- Evaluate and implement QA tools, technologies, and frameworks to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with established QA processes, documentation standards, and testing methodologies.
- Support organizational growth initiatives, including onboarding and alignment of QA teams during acquisitions.
- Monitor productivity metrics, operational performance, and process effectiveness to identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships by proactively communicating project status, risks, dependencies, and quality outcomes.
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning initiatives within the engineering organization.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Quality Engineering department.
Qualification & Experience
- Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
- 10+ years of industry experience in software testing and minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar supervisory/management position.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Solid understanding of technical aspect of Software Quality Engineering
- A solid practical understanding of Agile Software Quality Assurance and Software Engineering concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on the applications and their environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualification Board) Test Manager Certification would be an added advantage.
