Founded in 2017 in Utrecht, Vitestro is pioneering the future of blood collection with the Aletta® Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device™ (ARPD™). This groundbreaking medical device combines advanced multi-modal imaging (near-infrared, ultrasound, and Doppler ultrasound) with robotics and AI to perform the entire diagnostic blood draw procedure autonomously.

By addressing critical healthcare staffing shortages and improving patient experience, Vitestro is transforming one of the most common and essential medical procedures. With more than 90 team members and growing rapidly, we are scaling our impact. As we placed our first devices with customers, we are now expanding our team to ensure successful implementation and long-term reliability.

At Vitestro, we are committed to continuous innovation and improvement.

About the Role

~1 min read

As our NPI Engineer, you play a key role in bringing hardware subsystems from development into stable series production. You operate at the intersection of R&D and production, ensuring that new subsystems are verified, documented, transferred, and improved in a structured and scalable way. You actively coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (mechanical, electrical, software, quality, and production) to align on requirements, timelines, risks, and release readiness.

In your first months, your focus will be on two subsystems. You will run and update verification test cases, write test scripts where needed, and ensure that results are clearly documented. You will translate engineering intent into practical work instructions for production and train production engineers on the correct assembly of new subsystems. At the same time, you refine process design and reflect those improvements in the CAD models. You facilitate technical discussions between R&D and production, drive resolution of open issues, and ensure clear ownership throughout the subsystem transfer.

You take ownership of the hardware release and transfer process, aligning stakeholders around defined milestones, deliverables, and validation criteria. You ensure that subsystems move smoothly from prototype to series production, with clear documentation, defined responsibilities, and robust validation.

After 12 months, the subsystems you worked on are running reliably in production. The subsystem transfer process is measurably improved and more predictable. Stakeholders have clear visibility into release status, risks, and responsibilities. You have become the first point of contact for production engineers when it comes to subsystem-related questions and improvements.

You thrive in a multidisciplinary environment where mechanical, electrical, and software engineers collaborate closely. You enjoy being hands-on, working with both technical documentation and physical hardware, and you bring a pragmatic, can-do mentality to every challenge.

  • An engineering background with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

  • At least 5 years of experience bringing a design from development into series production.
