Head of Facilities & Asset Management

• Full-time opportunity based at our modern head office in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne

This is a rare opportunity to shape a critical business function as this role heads our Facilities and Asset Management and is accountable for the whole-of-life stewardship, presentation, safety, compliance and commercial performance of VMCH's diverse property portfolio. The portfolio includes residential aged care, retirement living, affordable housing, disability properties and accommodation, specialist education and corporate facilities.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, as a member of the VMCH Leadership Team you will work closely with the Head of Development. Major developments are led by the Head of Development; this role contributes operational and lifecycle expertise and ensures complete developments are effectively commissioned and transitioned into ongoing facilities management.

• →Leading facilities management and maintenance services across all VMCH locations, while establishing and monitoring portfolio-wide standards
• →Implementing regular site inspection and assurance processes
• →Developing an effective operating model for maintenance officers and external providers
• →Partnering with operational, sales and marketing leaders to ensure properties are well maintained and presented to a high standard
• →Leading whole-of-life asset management across the portfolio to maximise asset performance, longevity, service outcomes and value
• →Developing and maintaining an asset management framework, with a portfolio asset management and renewal plan.

• Tertiary qualification in property, asset management, facilities management, engineering, construction management, commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience
• Leadership experience, in facilities, maintenance or asset management within a large, geographically dispersed and operationally complex property portfolio
• Experience in leading high-volume maintenance operations and building accountable, service-oriented teams.
• Strong commercial and financial capability, including operating and capital budgets, whole-of-life costing, business cases, procurement and contract negotiation
• Experience establishing and managing complex facilities contracts and outsourced service-provider relationships
• Sound knowledge of property, building, essential services, workplace safety, accessibility and relevant statutory compliance obligations
• Highly developed communication, relationship management, negotiation and change leadership skills
• Current Victorian driver's licence and capacity to travel across VMCH locations.
