The Fabric Store, Christchurch | Part-time Retail Assistant

About the Role:
Are you passionate about fabrics and fashion? We're seeking a fabric-loving individual to join our team as a part-time Retail Assistant at our Tannery Store. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for fabric, coupled with knowledge of garment construction, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

This role is 6 hours per week, rostered on a Saturday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service to ensure a memorable shopping experience.
• Proactively achieve sales targets through effective communication and product knowledge.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and efficient store environment.

Requirements:

• Enthusiasm for our products and the textile industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Previous retail experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Genuine passion for fabric and garment construction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The Fabric Store is a boutique fabric retailer, that specialises in contemporary designer dress fabrics and textiles, with a strong focus on natural fibres. Our brand began in New Zealand, and now has stores throughout New Zealand and Australia, as well as an international online store. Fabrics are sourced from both local and international designers and include silks, linens, wool suiting & coatings, satins, cottons and specialty pieces such as merino jersey, leather hides and Liberty of London prints.
