Construction Document Control Specialist
Manages, organizes, and distributes all project documents (drawings, specs, contracts, RFIs, etc.), ensuring version control, accuracy, and compliance with standards, acting as the central point for information flow to prevent errors and keep projects on track by implementing procedures and maintaining digital/physical records for teams and stakeholders.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Receiving, logging, tracking, filing, scanning, and storing all project documents (electronic & hard copies).
- Version Control: Implementing systems to ensure only the latest, approved versions of documents are used, archiving old versions.
- Distribution & Communication: Distributing documents to relevant internal teams (PMs, engineers) and external parties (contractors, consultants, clients).
- Quality & Compliance: Performing quality checks for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- System Management: Setting up and maintaining document control systems (e.g., Aconex, Procore, SharePoint) and creating templates.
- Reporting: Generating reports on document status, submittal progress, and tracking action items.
- Liaison: Serving as the point of contact for document-related queries and issues between project stakeholders.
- Auditing: Preparing for and supporting internal and external audits by keeping records audit-ready.
Core Skills Needed:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency with document control software and general IT.
- Good communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of construction project life cycles and technical documents (blueprints, specs).
Project: GP Borealis Project – Englehart Ontario
Work Shift at Site – 14 / 7 – 10 Hr. Days (unpaid 30mins lunch)
Accommodations – WBM Provided with Daily Meal Allowance
Travel Costs – Flights from home to site / Driving Allowance depending on KMs from Home to Site
