We're looking for a Maintenance Supervisor | Production to provide leadership to ensure effective maintenance service for all plant processing equipment to meet production requirements in addition to having oversight for a small operations crew in the plant. This role reports to the plant Operations Manager.
This role will be based in our manufacturing facility in Westfield, NY.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Responsible for maintenance of processing equipment, refrigeration, boiler room, waste plant, building maintenance, and seasonal preparation.
- →Demonstrates expertise with the maintenance requirement of plant processing and seasonal operations.
- →Supervise and lead the maintenance / processing team in addition to the above maintenance responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- →Inspects and tests processing and packaging set-ups to ensure proper operation of all equipment.
- →Conducts meetings for the purpose of training and problem solving.
- →Enforces any contractual rights or demands as they apply to the maintenance / processing departments.
- →Train mechanics in the proper set-up, adjustment, and maintenance of, processing and seasonal support equipment and supervise them to accomplish maintenance requirements.
- →Establishes daily objectives for crew and daily evaluates the extent to which these objectives are being met. Periodically reviews the performance of each maintenance person under supervision and conducts personal interviews to review and improve performance.
- Demonstrated ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment. Strong troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to other maintenance supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Cross-functional demonstrated skills in Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in food manufacturing strongly preferred, Lean and Six Sigma a plus.
- Minimum of four years related applicable experience with Supervision of machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid record of safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.
- Ability to flex shift as business needs arise. This role primarily works typical dayshift hours, however may be required to flex into alternate shifts.

- The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Welch's good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus plan.
