Direct Support Specialist

NEW PAY RATE: $24.00/hour + $1.00/hour weekend differential

Are you passionate about helping others and making a meaningful impact? Join our team as a Direct Support Specialist (DSP) and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their homes and communities.

You'll help the people we support build independence, make informed choices, develop meaningful relationships, and participate in their communities-all while working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Provide direct support with activities of daily living, including personal care, household tasks, health maintenance, and relationship development.

Support individuals in making informed decisions and achieving their personal goals.

Promote independence, self-advocacy, and natural supports.

Encourage community participation, social opportunities, and meaningful relationships.

Follow individualized care plans and agency procedures, including medication administration as required.

Monitor, document, and report individuals' progress, needs, and overall status.

Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment.

Work collaboratively with individuals supported, coworkers, families, and community partners.

Support individuals across their homes and community settings.

Maintain required certifications and training, including Safety-Care, CPR/AED/First Aid, Human Rights, and HIPAA.

High School Diploma or GED.

Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

2–3 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, Milieu Therapist, or similar human services role.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Dependable, trustworthy, compassionate, and respectful.

Commitment to supporting individuals with dignity, choice, and independence.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Full-Time: 35 hours/week

Schedule Options: Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday

Shifts: 1st and 2nd shift

Occasional flexibility to cover 3rd shift may be required

Locations: Cranston, Johnston, and Warwick, RI
