This is a rare opportunity to take on a highly visible role at the centre of Westpac’s global debt investor programs. As Director, Debt Investor Relations, you’ll lead how Westpac connects with fixed income investors and research analysts across domestic and international markets, shaping the narrative around our funding strategy, performance and risk profile.
Based in Sydney and sitting within Group Treasury, you’ll act as the primary point of contact for debt investors, working closely with the Group Treasurer, Investor Relations and senior leaders across the bank. You’ll lead investor roadshows, manage key investor relationships, and ensure Westpac’s messaging is clear, accurate and credible in a highly regulated, high‑profile environment.
This role offers a unique platform to influence senior decision making, represent one of Australia’s leading banks on the global stage, and play a meaningful role in how Westpac engages with the market.
To thrive in this role, you’ll be someone who can build trust quickly across the bank and external markets and bring clear, confident thinking into high‑stakes conversations by balancing investor expectations with strong judgement and disclosure discipline.
- Market-facing communication strength - you translate complex treasury and bank information into clear, accurate messaging and materials that land well with external audiences.
- Enterprise alignment - you build and maintain close relationships across Treasury, Finance, Risk, and our customer facing businesses, bringing stakeholders together to align messaging and ensure it is clear and consistent.
- Debt investor and analyst credibility - you’re comfortable engaging directly with domestic and international fixed income investors and research analysts, building long-term relationships and handling requests with confidence and professionalism.
- Strong disclosure and risk mindset - you understand what “clear, accurate and not misleading” looks like, and you’re comfortable working within market disclosure obligations and escalation pathways when issues are sensitive.
- Treasury and markets understanding - you bring solid working knowledge of the Treasury environment (including funding, liquidity and capital) and can juggle multiple priorities under time pressure without losing attention to detail.
- Executive-level stakeholder management - you can influence across senior internal stakeholders (Treasury leadership, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, Risk and Communications), keeping the right people informed and aligned on key issues and deliverables.
