Create your best future and join Westpac as a Power BI Developer.

This role will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, designing scalable data and semantic models, and translating business requirements into clear, insight‑driven Power BI solutions. It will apply data storytelling and UX best practices across the full BI development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to testing, deployment, and documentation.

This role will also be responsible for optimising Power BI solutions through effective DAX and data model tuning, while engaging with stakeholders to deliver insights aligned to business needs. It requires the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, collaborate across business and technical teams, and continuously improve analytics solutions.

  • 3+ years’ hands‑on experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI, DAX, and SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets.
  • Proven experience designing robust, scalable data models, including semantic models that support performant reporting.
  • Expertise in applying data storytelling and UX best practices to drive report adoption and usability.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data preparation or automation is highly regarded.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate) is desirable.
