About the Role

~1 min read

The best operators don’t wait for busy moments to create impact. They use the quiet moments to improve the business. That’s exactly who we’re looking for at The Lighthouse Brooklyn.

We’re hiring an Assistant General Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Brooklyn campus, a first-of-its-kind creative playground built for creators to learn, make, collaborate, and belong.

This is not a passive hospitality role. Yes, there are high-energy moments: events, productions, activations, member experiences, and busy campus days. But there are also quieter operational windows, and how you use that time matters just as much.

The right person for this role is someone who naturally:

  • looks for ways to improve operations
  • tightens systems and processes
  • coaches and develops teams
  • notices gaps before they become problems
  • creates structure and accountability
  • takes ownership without waiting to be asked

If you’re the type of leader who walks into a space and immediately starts thinking about how to make it run better, we’d love to meet you.

You’ll act as the operational heartbeat of the campus, helping oversee the daily experience across reception, hospitality, café/bar operations, member spaces, facilities, vendors, and support teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading day-to-day campus operations and hospitality execution
  • Supporting an exceptional experience for members, guests, creators, and brand partners
  • Managing and developing operational and hourly staff
  • Overseeing café/bar service standards and operational performance
  • Coordinating vendors, maintenance, facilities, and campus readiness
  • Supporting event operations, staffing, and F&B execution
  • Building and improving SOPs, workflows, and operational systems
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and service quality
  • Partnering closely with Community, Events, Studio & Production, and Membership teams

Most importantly, you’ll help create a culture of ownership, urgency, hospitality, and operational excellence across the campus.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Operates with a strong sense of ownership, proactively identifying issues, improving workflows, and driving execution without needing constant direction
  • Loves operations as much as hospitality
  • Is energized by improving systems and execution
  • Doesn’t need constant direction or structure
  • Can zoom out strategically while still being hands-on
  • Leads by example and jumps in wherever needed
  • Stays calm under pressure and solutions-oriented
  • Takes pride in creating exceptional environments and experiences
  • 5+ years of experience leading hospitality, operations, or multi-department teams
  • Experience in high-end hospitality, coworking, member clubs, boutique hotels, experiential spaces, or creative environments preferred
  • Strong operational instincts and organizational skills
  • Experience managing teams, schedules, vendors, and service environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A hospitality-first mindset with high standards for execution
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 and serves as a general guideline for the potential compensation. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, expertise, alignment with the position's requirements, and, ultimately, budget approvals.
