Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Canby, OR


Wilson Construction Company is recruiting for an experienced, detail and team-oriented Payroll Specialist.  

This position will share responsibility in the daily activities of processing approximately 500 to 600 multi-state, multi-union, in-house payroll checks on a weekly basis.


This position will be responsible for the following duties under the supervision of the Payroll Manager:  
•    Audits timesheets for completeness and accuracy;
•    Accurately enters & processes multi-state, multi-union cost coded payroll; 
•    Applies multi-union and state and federal payroll laws;
•    Prepares and reviews union reports; 
•    Prepares and pays weekly, monthly, and quarterly taxes;
•    Timely resolution of outstanding payroll and accounting issues; 
•    Effectively applies company payroll policies and procedures;
•    Providing customer service to internal and external personnel;
•    Other general office duties.


Requirements:
•    Minimum 3 years Payroll and Accounting experience;
•    In-house, full-cycle construction and union payroll processing experience preferred, but not required;
•    Working knowledge of federal, multiple state, and local payroll taxes;
•    In-depth knowledge of payroll tax and accounting principles as well as wage and hour laws; 
•    Working knowledge Davis Bacon and state prevailing wage a plus;
•    Proficient with Excel/Outlook;
•    10-key by touch/Typing 50 wpm;
•    Data entry skills;   
•    Solution oriented with the ability to use independent and logical decision-making skills that are consistent with company, regulatory, and provider guidelines;
•    Strong time management, prioritizing, and analytical skills;
•    Ability to multi-task, follow directions, be open to change and work under pressure;
•    Effectively work in an open office, fast-paced environment while meeting numerous and frequent deadlines with accuracy;
•    Attention to detail;
•    Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff; and
•    Must be reliable and dependable.
