The Associate Director is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing and motivating a dynamic field marketing team. This role combines strategic oversight with active field engagement, requiring a high level of leadership, data fluency, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will excel in high-pressure, results-driven environments, inspiring teams, driving KPIs, and executing local marketing initiatives aligned with company goals. 

 

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Field Management 

  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of Proximity Marketing Managers, Team Leads, and Direct Marketing Associates. 
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, motivation, and coaching to foster a high-performing team. 
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented team culture. 
  • Lead daily team meetings to motivate and align the team prior to canvassing activities. 
  • Drive a high-performance sales and marketing culture through goal setting and performance management.

 

Strategic Planning & Execution 

  • Implement marketing strategies that align with company and departmental objectives. 
  • Set and track daily, weekly, and monthly goals for the team. 
  • Develop and execute local marketing campaigns in various towns, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. 
  • Partner with Sales, Talent Acquisition, IT, ISC, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and strategic alignment.

 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Utilize CRM and department-specific software to analyze data, forecast results, and inform decision-making. 
  • Monitor KPIs and department standards, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets. 
  • Compile regular reports and insights for the Director, highlighting performance, challenges, and opportunities.

 

Operational & Compliance Management

  • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures across all activities. 
  • Ensure all activities, including canvassing and promotional efforts, comply with local laws and regulations. 
  • Manage logistics related to the use of company vehicles and field operations.

 

Training & Development 

  • Deliver comprehensive training programs on sales methodology, safety, brand messaging, and ethical practices. 
  • Continuously coach team members to improve performance, product knowledge, and customer engagement skills.

 

Hands-On Field Involvement 

  • Be actively involved in field activities, including canvassing, lead generation, and team motivation. 
  • Make quick decisions in real-time to adapt to changing field conditions and maximize results.

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience in field marketing, sales management, or related roles, ideally within home improvement, home services, or similar industries. 
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate, develop, and manage teams in high-pressure environments. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM systems, analytics tools, and department apps. 
  • Ability to analyze KPIs, forecast results, and adjust strategies accordingly. 
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to marketing and canvassing. 
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
  • Must be willing to drive to Cranford, New Jersey twice a week. 
  • Full-time availability to work in-office 5 days per week, with active field involvement.

Base Salary: $80,000 (total earning potential: $110,000–$150,000+ (base + bonus + commission)
