Woodston Personnel are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) to join a leading hospital in Saudi Arabia to provide expert-level care to critically ill children. The consultant will be responsible for managing a broad spectrum of life-threatening pediatric conditions requiring intensive monitoring and advanced therapeutic interventions. The role includes leadership in patient care, clinical governance, and mentoring of junior staff, contributing to a high-quality pediatric critical care service.
Provide expert-level care for critically ill pediatric patients, including trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure, post-surgical care, and multi-organ dysfunction
Perform and supervise advanced procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, mechanical ventilation, and resuscitation
Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other allied health professionals
Serve as a resource and mentor for residents, fellows, and nursing staff in the PICU
Develop, implement, and oversee clinical care protocols, safety measures, and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in the PICU on-call schedule and provide emergency response leadership as needed
Contribute to departmental teaching, clinical research, and academic programs
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical activities
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, national healthcare regulations, and international best practices

Advanced clinical and procedural expertise in pediatric intensive care

Valid and current medical license or eligibility for licensure in Saudi Arabia
MUST HAVE postgraduate qualification specialist training as follows: American Board (US), FRCS (Irish, UK, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand), Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées (DES) / CIS French Board, Facharzt (Germany or equivalent) with recognised Subspecialty Certification, Recognized Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care from an accredited institution
Minimum 3 - 4 years post-board/fellowship experience in a dedicated PICU consultant role
Excellent clinical/ technical skills in his/ her specialty.
Knowledge of Arabic.
