Ophthalmic Technician- Oculoplastic

*MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO  CUMMING, GAINESVILLE AND SANDY SPRINGS WEEKLY*

Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties.

• →Facilitate patient care
• →Preliminary work-up: history, chief complaint, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil reactions, scope of vision, color vision and muscle movement.
• →Manual refractions.
• →Tonometry (Applanation, Tonopen).
• →Diagnostic testing: Biometry, Topography, OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photos.
• →Take dictation and document exam findings while physician is examining patient.
• →Administer drops under physician supervision.
• →Write out necessary prescriptions.
• →Take and explain tests, procedures, treatments, and diagnoses to patients.
• →Maintain and stock all exam rooms.
• →Clean and maintain all instruments.
• →Assist physician in minor office surgery.
• →Return and answer patient phone calls as needed.
• →Scribing

Requirements

• →Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an ophthalmic practice. Experience in cornea and cataract clinics preferred.
• →Minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic testing.
• →Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• →Reliability and dependability.
• →Strong organizational skills.
• →Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• →Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• →Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
