Woolpert is hiring a Regional Controller to join our dynamic Finance and Accouting team. This position reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for being the accounting leader for the North America region, with full responsibility for regional accounting operations, financial close, internal controls, federal and state income and local tax, and compliance. This role provides independent decision‑making authority for the region and leads multiple layers of accounting leadership and staff.
The Regional Controller partners with the Corporate Controller and FP&A team to support consolidation, cash management, and corporate reporting while ensuring regional accounting integrity and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- Own all accounting operations for the U.S. region, including AP, AR, payroll accounting, expense reporting, cash management, credit card programs, and general ledger.
- Lead and develop managers and subordinate teams across multiple functional accounting areas.
- Establish regional priorities, staffing models, and performance expectations aligned to enterprise standards.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the U.S. region with accountability for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Approve complex journal entries, estimates, and accounting judgments for the region.
- Prepare and review U.S. regional financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate reporting requirements.
- Design, enforce, and continuously improve internal controls across all regional accounting processes.
- Serve as the primary regional contact for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards.
- Monitor daily regional cash activity and liquidity.
- Partner with Corporate Accounting & Treasury on cash forecasting, intercompany activity, and banking strategy.
- Ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of banking discrepancies.
- Act as the senior accounting advisor to U.S. operational and functional leaders.
- Lead regional accounting process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements.
- Support corporate consolidation, reporting, and enterprise initiatives through high‑quality regional data and insights.
Requirements

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →15+ years of progressive accounting experience
- →Proven experience leading managers and multi‑layer teams
- →Experience owning regional or multi‑entity accounting operations
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to make independent, risk‑based decisions
- Experience with ERP systems and enterprise accounting tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
