Job Title: Warehouse Assistant
Department: Office of Community Engagement
Student Employment Type: Federal Work-Study
Responsibilities:
  • Accurately package and bag food items for delivery, ensuring they are securely sealed and clearly labeled.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, unloading trucks, and confirming order accuracy.
  • Organize and place food products in their proper storage locations within the warehouse using pallet jacks or other approved equipment if necessary.
  • Follow all safety procedures, food safety and hygiene standards particularly when handling perishable goods or operating warehouse equipment.
  • Lift, raise, and place materials weighing up to 25 pounds above shoulder height, using proper techniques to prevent injury and maintain workplace safety, while stocking shelves, loading pallets, or accessing higher storage racks.
  • Provide general administrative support, including making phone calls to clients or volunteers and may assist with driver routing and scheduling.
Qualifications:

• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
• Experience or willingness to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; identify and support the mission of New Reach
• Experience in a customer service field or having a customer service mindset is helpful, but not required

Hours of Position:  Operational hours of the New Reach offices are Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm. Applicants must have sufficient time available during the operational hours to work between 6-8 hours per week.
