Position Summary
The Recruiter plays a critical role in efficiently matching qualified applicants with open job orders to meet our clients’ labor needs while also supporting the career goals and needs of candidates. This role also includes counseling candidates on their career goals, maintaining positive relationships with both clients and candidates, and ensuring accurate and timely communication. The Recruiter is expected to maintain 1,500+ hours billed per week. Recruiters are expected to recruit “The WorkSmart Way”- with professionalism, urgency, consistency, and care- in a manner that reflects and upholds our company values. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This role operates with clear performance expectations aligned with company KPIs and individual agreements that reflect strategic goals and local branch needs.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing & Engagement (70%)
- Proactively source qualified candidates from the ATS and external job boards
- Reach out to potential candidates via phone, text, or email to initiate the screening
process
- Meet or exceed outbound communication targets (calls/texts/emails) to ensure a steady candidate pipeline
- Screen and document candidates’ ability to assess basic qualifications, interest, and
availability
- Conduct job counseling sessions in an appropriate and timely manner
- Following The WorkSmart Way from initial candidate engagement through placement
and reemployment
Client Engagement and Retention (30%)
- Actively track associate attendance for assigned clients; identify trends and proactively recruit to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Prepare and deliver reports as required by the client’s tier level, ensuring accuracy and
- Engage clients through regular phone calls, emails, and scheduled in-person visits to build
trust and ensure alignment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for any workers’ comp incidents or client escalations, following the 1-3-1 method (issue, options, recommended solution).
- Anticipate potential challenges, recommend solutions to prevent issues, and support the client in achieving staffing and operational goals.
Onboarding & Process Coordination (5%)
- Ensure initial onboarding and all forms are properly completed and submitted
- Ensure drug screens are in alignment with company policy and compliance standards
- Partner closely with the Front Office Onboarding Coordinator/Staffing Coordinator to
ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive candidate experience
- Answer phones courteously and provide support to walk-in candidates or callers as needed
- Ensure background checks are in alignment with both company and client policies and
follow escalation procedure
- Ensure all prescreening process is completed prior to placing candidates, including but not limited to, background, drug screen, E-Verify, and POMQ
Administrative Support & Compliance (5%)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within internal systems, including candidate knowledge score
- Assist with general office tasks and support additional staffing or recruiting initiatives as
needed
- Maintain and audit document adherence on a daily basis
- Carry out all responsibilities in alignment with company values, processes, and performance expectations
Qualifications
