The Assistant Manager – People Operations will play a pivotal role in managing, streamlining, and scaling our People operations. This person will oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle, manage HR systems, and ensure seamless service delivery. This role requires a data-driven, highly organized professional who can balance hands-on execution with strategic process improvements to elevate the overall employee experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Employee Lifecycle Management & Onboarding
- Onboarding & Integration: Plan, execute, and continuously improve the onboarding journey for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition and positive first impression.
- Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the collection and verification of candidate documents and resolve any documentation discrepancies or insufficiencies.
- Background Verification (BGV): Support and monitor the end-to-end BGV process managed by third-party vendors, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
- Probation & Confirmations: Manage the end-to-end probation tracking and confirmation process within Workday, coordinating with department heads for evaluations and issuing confirmation letters.
- Exit Process: Manage end-to-end exit process within Workday, coordinating with departments such as IT, Finance, Administration, etc. for clearances and providing FNF inputs to payroll and issuing Experience and Relieving letters to the exiting employee.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration
- End-to-End Payroll Management: Oversee and execute timely and accurate monthly payroll processing for employees across all India locations.
- Input Auditing & Approvals: Review and approve payroll inputs, including new joiners, exits, salary revisions, leaves, attendance data, etc.
- Benefits & Wellness: Administer employee benefits programs, including Group Medical Insurance, Group Term Life Insurance (GTL), and other corporate wellness initiatives. Own data inputs and proper record-keeping for insurance benefits.
- Queries & Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding People process queries. Track and analyse recurring employee concerns and recommend improvements.
- HR Systems, Data, & Reporting
- HRIS Management: Monitor and maintain the internal HRIS (Workday), ensuring 100% data integrity, system hygiene, and seamless database updates.
- Analytics & MIS Reporting: Own the People Operations reporting cadence. Design, build, and maintain actionable dashboards, MIS reports, and SLA trackers to provide senior leadership with insights into service delivery effectiveness.
- Audits & Compliance: Support internal and external HR audits by maintaining meticulous records and providing necessary artifacts and evidence as required.
- Process Excellence, Projects, & Strategy
- Service Delivery Excellence: Implement best practices in People operations to enhance the employee experience, establish clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify bottlenecks in workflows and drive continuous process improvements and automation. Identify and implement opportunities to scale with AI intervention
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, IT, Admin, and Business Units to streamline People service delivery.
- Project Management: Act as the primary point of contact for specialized People Operations projects, liaising with senior management, external vendors, and internal execution teams.
- Org-wide Initiatives: Actively participate in and support organization-wide people initiatives, culture-building activities, and change management projects.
What you'll need:
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in HR Operations, with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience working within Shared Services (SSC), BPO, ITES, or multinational environments is a strong advantage.
- Education: Master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience and deep operational knowledge of Workday is highly preferred.
- Project management skills that allow for multitasking and prioritization, with a strong eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Flexible, problem-solving attitude to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
- A collaborative team player who can guide junior team members and foster a positive working culture.
