Why we're hiring:

WPP’s Data & Technology Solutions is WPP’s unified global data products and technology team. We work with our agencies and clients to build data-driven solutions and technology products to power marketing transformation.

WPP Open is our AI platform for marketing; it connects marketing professionals, data, tools, and AI in a single place. WPP Open is the simplest, safest, and fastest way to realize the benefits of scaled AI – delivering better-informed creative ideas faster, at scale, and at lower cost.

We’re endlessly curious, and our team of thinkers, builders, creators, and problem solvers is over 2,000 strong, across 20 markets around the world.

At WPP, we lead the way in commerce expertise from retail media and social commerce to shopper marketing, content, and award-winning creative commerce. As Director, Global App Enablement, you will be the trusted partner for global and regional commerce leaders and champion networks. You’ll build strong relationships and empower them to unlock the full potential of our commerce apps across media, strategy, content, reporting, and analytics.

The Director, Global Enablement - Commerce is a highly skilled and proactive enablement lead who translates product strategy into scalable enablement programs, equipping the business to drive meaningful adoption and value realization through consistent, high-quality resources. You will work autonomously, taking accountability for creating, executing, and distributing these resources and building a long-term strategic enablement roadmap in conjunction with our product leads.

  • You possess the autonomy to execute all tasks independently, with a long-term horizon and broad scope of influence, and are ready to mentor and guide others.
  • You will be the SME in Commerce in at least one of retail media, social commerce, shopper marketing, content, or creative, and you will design, develop, and execute enablement programs that drive the adoption of our Commerce capabilities.
  • You will partner with cross-discipline product and go-to-market teams to support current capabilities and future releases.
  • You will build trust quickly, fostering strong relationships with partners and stakeholders who will help to deliver enablement ‘to the edge,’ allowing us to reach the scale of our full organization and value from our capabilities. They will see you as their trusted advisor and SME in the App/Capability areas that you support.
  • You will monitor adoption metrics to identify areas for improvement and increased engagement, contributing directly to the platform's success and capabilities.
  • You will champion the voice of the customer and contribute to the continued enhancement of our capabilities through data-driven and balanced feedback.
  • You will work closely with other Global Enablement team members to ensure that processes, ways of working, and outputs are consistent and high quality across our different platform capability areas.
  • You will have strong people leadership skills and a core ability to influence others with autonomy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage or mentor and guide more junior team members and stakeholders on expert product use.
  • Set or contribute to OKRs for your team.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and navigate the organization, ensuring you’re able to influence outcomes with little or no support.
  • Independently develop a deep, practical understanding of app capabilities, their features, benefits, and strategic place within agency and client business.
  • Provide significant input to product roadmaps, influencing product evolution based on client needs, data-driven feedback, and market dynamics to drive full value realization.
  • Design, lead, and implement comprehensive enablement programs tailored for various partner and customer groups aimed at delivering consistent and effective product adoption.
  • Translate product features and releases into best-in-class, user-centric enablement materials.
  • Create and scale knowledge base articles, guides, and playbooks.
  • Inform the design and development of scalable training materials and resources.
  • Gather input from the enablement and champion community to continuously audit and improve materials.
  • Help to establish consistent messaging and documentation across the enablement ecosystem.
  • Strengthen the readiness of Regional/Client Enablement and Champion networks.
  • Maintain accessible, well-structured knowledge hubs.
  • Lead delivery for global community forums and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Champion platform and capability education, delivering training for internal communities.
  • Gather structured feedback from partners, champions, and users.
  • Channel insights through defined mechanisms to Platform/Capability leadership.
  • Identify gaps in enablement coverage and content.
  • Proactively gather and analyze complex user feedback and be the voice of the user/client. Channel insights back to Platform/Capability development, influencing improvements and adoption.

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years of experience in platform/product enablement, client success, product marketing, or a similar role, demonstrating a strong track record of autonomously driving product adoption and value.
  • 6+ years of experience in advertising or a related field, with a solid understanding of complex agency operating structures, competitive technology, and Media, Production, and Creative capabilities.
  • Strong comprehension of how commerce data & technology is used by agencies and advertisers to bolster their clients’ business operations and strategies. First-hand experience with third-party commerce products and platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with streamlining workflows through technology, ideally AI-powered automation.
  • Strong analytical skills to track adoption, engagement, and utilization metrics.
  • Proven ability to contribute to and implement comprehensive enablement strategies and lead the creation of impactful supporting materials.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building trust, fostering collaboration, and building strong relationships across highly matrixed, multi-geographical teams.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in delivering training sessions and acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills for delivering impactful product demos and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and practical thinking in demanding, fast-paced environments.
  • A strong and flexible work ethic; able to thrive under pressure, juggle multiple responsibilities, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
