For a Tax professional in Frankfurt, this means a unique opportunity: to apply your expertise within a strategically vital corporate environment, managing high-value and intricate tax matters. You will act as a key strategic partner to our agencies, directly contributing to the financial health and success of leading global brands and navigating the sophisticated tax challenges inherent in a global market leader.
As a Tax Manager, you will support the Tax Director Germany in all tax matters of the German holding companies and the operating agencies. As part of the global tax team, you will form an important interface between the tax department and our group companies in Germany. You will work closely with the local and global finance teams and external consultants to identify and address local tax issues.
You will report to the Tax Director Germany and work closely with the International Tax Director (Europe) based in London to support the Group's financial and strategic objectives from a tax perspective. This role gives you the opportunity to gain interesting experience by being involved in a wide range of tax projects, from tax compliance to strategic planning, allowing you to continuously develop and expand your tax expertise.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders, external tax advisors and the tax authorities.
- Management of the annual tax return cycle for the German income tax group, including coordination with the local finance teams and external tax advisors to ensure the timely submission of returns.
- Management and reconciliation of tax assessments and tax payments, review of tax calculations.
- Ensuring timely reporting of financial information for tax reporting purposes (e.g., for tax provisions and external annual audits).
- Support of group companies in tax audits.
- Processing of enquiries from the group companies and the tax authorities.
- Cooperation with the Transfer Pricing Team in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
- Close cooperation with external advisors and WPP's internal M&A and legal teams to structure transactions.
- Monitoring of post-acquisition integration and structuring.
- Tax support and cooperation with the group companies in connection with the simplification of the group structure.
- Supporting Group companies in identifying and managing/avoiding tax risks by driving initiatives to continuously improve tax processes, controls and systems.
- Creation of guidelines.
- Training of finance teams.
- Experience as a tax professional in business taxes and the ability to work in an organised and independent manner.
- Strong economic understanding as well as strategic and analytical thinking.
- Very good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work as part of a cross-functional global team.
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken.
- Successfully completed business administration or law studies (ideally with a focus on taxes), alternatively a successfully completed degree in finance or many years of experience in corporate tax law.
- Tax advisor exam (CTA qualified) ideally.
