Role Summary and Impact
WPP Media is seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial, APAC to support commercial excellence, client profitability and scalable growth across the region.
Reporting into the Regional Commercial Lead / Regional Chief Commercial Officer, this role will support the execution of commercial strategy across assigned clients and markets, with a focus on financial governance, operational efficiency and value delivery.
The Senior Manager will partner closely with regional and market commercial, finance and client leadership teams to improve client profitability, strengthen commercial processes and enable better decision-making through data, reporting and financial insights.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive consistent execution across markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of regional commercial strategy, aligning initiatives with business growth and profitability objectives.
- Act as a commercial business partner to client leads and agency teams, supporting financial performance and accountability across assigned accounts.
- Identify and support client profitability improvement initiatives, including revenue optimisation, cost control and margin management.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities for assigned client portfolios, working closely with Finance and Commercial leadership.
- Support the implementation and refinement of commercial frameworks,processes and reporting structures across APAC markets.
- Review client financial reporting to ensure accuracy,compliance and alignment with contractual requirements, including media credits, OMI and reporting standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Investment and Operations, to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Support new business pitches and commercial modelling, including pricing inputs, resource assumptions and scenario analysis.
- Contribute to client tiering and segmentation work, ensuring commercial support models are aligned to client size,complexity and growth potential.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and client-facing teams, supporting commercial decisions with clear analysis and recommendations.
- Coach junior team members and share commercial best practices across markets where required.
- Support automation and reporting transformation initiatives to improve data visibility, consistency and decision-making.
Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in commercial, finance, business operations or related roles, ideally within media, advertising or marketing services.
- Good understanding of media agency business models, client contracts and key revenue drivers.
- Experience supporting profitability reviews, financial planning,forecasting and commercial analysis.
- Experience working across regional or multi-market environments, with APAC exposure preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical insights and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence working with finance, commercial and client leadership teams.
- Ability to support process standardisation, framework implementation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting new business pitches, pricing analysis or commercial negotiations is advantageous.
- Some experience coaching,guiding or mentoring junior colleagues is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting and reporting tools, including Excel and relevant finance or BI platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field; MBA or equivalent is advantageous but not required.
