ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Ambassador (CA) role is designed to build capacity within World Relief, the refugee and immigrant communities we serve, and the broader Spokane community. This hybrid position strengthens integration, belonging, and empowerment for the Afghan community. The CA will work both in the office and in the community—conducting outreach, organizing culturally relevant events, and ensuring Afghan families have access to information, programs, and social services offered through World Relief and across Spokane. The CA serves as a trusted bridge between World Relief and the Afghan community by strengthening relationships, sharing resources, and building community connections.

  • Conduct regular outreach to individuals and families within the Afghan community, including follow-up on needs and referrals.

  • Provide updates to the CA team on changing community resources that support the Afghan community.
  • Promote World Relief and partner events.
