Miner 3 (Scoop Operator)

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Mining Supervisor, the successful candidate will work on a  2 weeks on 2 weeks off schedule and will safely support mining operations with front line duties while following safe work procedures to provide overall production and safe target support for the  Red Lake Madsen Mine team.   The Miner 3 position offers an hourly rate of $72.72, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $41.00 per hour through a production bonus, for a total earning potential of $113.72 per hour.

The focus of this role will include:

• Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines
• Follow shift plan as outlined by the Underground Mine Supervisor
• Operate scooptram to muck material from development faces, stopes, draw points, etc.
• Operate scooptram to prepare development faces for drilling or loading activities
• Operate scooptram on remote to retrieve ore from stopes, and to backfill stopes once ore recovery has been completed.
• Perform routine maintenance of mining machinery
• Install and extend ventilation, air and water pipes, or any other related mine services
• Other duties as assigned
  

Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Underground common core module training and certification
• Previous experience of 3 years in mucking and haulage activities
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent proven team player approach to work
• Valid driver’s license
