Senior and Mid-level Green investment /Finance Expert

Within the EIB Greening Financial Systems Technical Assistance Programme (GFS TA) additional services for the Green Transition Facility (GTF) Jordan are planned.

The GTF is intended to facilitate and stimulate green investments by supporting financial intermediaries/commercial banks in Jordan through delivering suitable funding and advisory services and strengthening the capacity of financial institutions and relevant stakeholders to design, implement, and scale green finance solutions that support the country’s transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy.

We are looking to hire a small pool of senior and mid-level green finance experts to support the project on part-time/demand basis. 

Position: Senior and Mid-level Green investment /Finance Expert 

 Qualifications and Skills

• University degree, ideally at Masters level, in Finance, Busines Administration or related subject;

General professional experience

• Preferably 5 - 10 years of professional experience in climate finance, investment advisory, or sustainable development financing;
• Proven experience working in MENA region with specific experience in Jordan being considered an asset;
• Experience in DFI-funded private sector development programmes is an asset.

Specific professional experience

• Proven experience in mobilisation of private investments in renewable energy, energy infrastructure and/or resource efficient technologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with private sector clients and providing "hands-on" expertise in preparing  financing proposals, climate investment plans;
• Demonstrated experience in cash-flow based lending, project finance analysis, and assessing the financial viability of green investments.
• Experience in designing or deploying sustainable, climate, and blended finance products, as well as ESG reporting.
• Excellent knowledge of English and/or Arabic (asset).
