About the Role

We are seeking a Fraud Analyst to join our BSA/AML team. In this role, you will support the detection, investigation, and mitigation of financial crime risks, with a strong emphasis on fraud-related activity. You will play a key part in ensuring XMoney remains compliant with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and related regulations while protecting the company and its customers from fraud and illicit activity.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, investigate, and escalate potential fraud, money laundering, and suspicious activity alerts using transaction monitoring systems and case management tools.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of customer activity, account behavior, and transaction patterns to identify red flags related to fraud and financial crime.
  • Perform customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring reviews.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and senior management to investigate complex cases and recommend risk mitigation actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of investigations, findings, and decisions to support audit and regulatory examinations.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and tuning of transaction monitoring rules and fraud detection scenarios.
  • Stay current on emerging fraud typologies, AML regulations, and industry best practices; contribute to policy and procedure updates.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and independent reviews of the BSA/AML program.
  • Provide guidance and training to front-line staff on fraud and AML red flags as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in fraud investigation, fraud operations, or fraud risk management within the financial services or fintech sector.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, OFAC sanctions, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Experience using transaction monitoring systems, case management platforms, and fraud detection tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify patterns of suspicious or fraudulent activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear investigative narratives and regulatory filings.
  • Experience in a fintech, payments, or digital banking environment.
  • CAMS, CFE, or other relevant compliance/fraud certifications.
  • Familiarity with SAR filing processes and FinCEN requirements.
  • Experience collaborating across Fraud, Compliance, and Risk functions.
  • Knowledge of emerging fraud trends (e.g., account takeover, synthetic identity, payment fraud, mule activity)
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
