We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior People Generalist/HR Manager to support our growing global business. Based in Sydney, this role serves as the primary People Team representative for three locations in Australia, providing end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle. 

This is a hands-on role that combines operational excellence and, at times, strategic partnership. The successful candidate will have strong HR generalist expertise, a solid understanding of Australian employment legislation, and experience supporting organisational change in a fast-paced, evolving environment. They will collaborate closely with global People Team colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver an exceptional employee experience while ensuring compliance and operational effectiveness. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary People Team contact for employees and managers across Australia, providing advice on employment legislation, company policies, employee relations matters and people practices. 

  • Partner with people leaders to support organizational effectiveness and talent strategies aligned to business objectives and the people plan.  

  • Manage employee relations matters and workplace concerns in accordance with company policy and Australian legislation. 

  • Support organizational design, restructuring and change management initiatives, including consultation processes and implementation planning where required. 

 

  • Work closely with Payroll and Finance for new hire set-up, contract and employment changes, payroll inputs, front-end changes, in line with agreed timeline. 

  • Support the implementation of employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, internal mobility and off-boarding. 

  • Partner with Finance, Payroll, Legal, IT and business leaders to ensure efficient and compliant people operations. 

  • Support employee documentation including contracts, policy updates, organisational changes and employment-related correspondence. 

  • Manage local employee communications and any relationships with external HR vendors and service providers. 

  • Provide support for visa, immigration and mobility matters where applicable. 

 

  • Support the delivery of global people programs including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career development and employee engagement initiatives. 

  • Working with the office manager, champion a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture through local engagement, recognition and wellbeing activities. 

  • Act as an employee advocate, fostering trust, transparency and a positive employee experience. 

 

  • Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, Modern Awards (where applicable) and evolving regulatory obligations. 

  • Maintain, review and support the implementation of HR policies, procedures and practices to ensure ongoing compliance, consistency and alignment with business needs, while ensuring accurate, up-to-date and accessible information is available to employees and managers through the self-service intranet.  

  • Partner with Legal, Finance and business leaders on employment-related risk management matters. 

  • Collaborate closely with global People Team colleagues to ensure consistent implementation of policies, programmes and processes across regions. 

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in a Human Resources or People Operations role  

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work legislation and HR best practices. 

  • Demonstrated experience independently managing employee relations matters and advising managers on people-related decisions. 

  • Experience supporting and embedding organizational change  

  • Required experience supporting people-related activity through M&A, integration, organizational change or business transformation. 

  • Experience working within a global and/or matrix organization is desirable. 

  • Experience with HR technology platforms such as BambooHR, Lever and Culture Amp is advantageous. 

 

The ideal candidate is commercially aware, resilient, collaborative and comfortable navigating ambiguity. They possess a strong customer-service mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a global team with practical implementation.

Base Salary
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:
Sydney: Compensation is expected to be between
$135,000-$150,000
