About the Role
~4 min readZeeco is seeking an experienced manufacturing and production leader for the position of Deputy General Manager – Production at our Wada manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, and process equipment manufacturing while leading large production teams in high-performance manufacturing environments.
This role requires strong expertise in shop-floor operations, production planning, assembly management, safety, quality, manpower handling, and execution excellence.
The selected candidate will play a key leadership role in strengthening production capabilities, improving operational efficiency, ensuring on-time project delivery, and driving continuous improvement initiatives at Zeeco’s Wada facility.
This is not a conventional production management role.

The Deputy General Manager – Production will be responsible for leading production and manufacturing operations at Zeeco’s Wada facility.
The role includes end-to-end responsibility for:
- Production planning and execution
- Fabrication and assembly operations
- Shop-floor productivity
- Safety and housekeeping
- Workforce management
- Quality and delivery performance
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordination with planning, quality, and project teams
The position requires strong exposure to heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, condensers, and related process equipment manufacturing.
- Lead complete manufacturing and assembly operations for heavy engineering equipment
- Drive production planning, scheduling, and execution to achieve delivery commitments
- Manage fabrication and assembly of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, condensers, and heavy process equipment
- Lead shop-floor operations with focus on productivity, quality, safety, and cost optimization
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, housekeeping practices, and operational procedures
- Conduct daily production reviews and monitor manufacturing progress against plans
- Coordinate with planning, quality, procurement, and project execution teams
- Handle customer inspections, audits, and technical discussions
- Drive problem-solving and conflict management across operational teams
- Lead and mentor large manufacturing workforces and supervisory teams
- Implement continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
- Support plant setup, operational stabilization, and manufacturing process development
- Monitor project execution timelines and ensure on-time dispatch of equipment
- Drive resource optimization and improve shop-floor efficiency
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and testing requirements including hydro testing and leak testing
- Coordinate fabrication, welding, assembly, and testing activities for critical equipment
- Develop and implement fixtures, tooling improvements, and manufacturing enhancements
- Support strategic operational planning and manufacturing capacity improvements
- Diploma / Degree in Production, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
- 25+ years of experience in:
- Heavy Engineering Manufacturing
- Process Equipment Manufacturing
- Heat Exchangers
- Pressure Vessels
- Reactors and Columns
- Fabrication and Assembly Operations

- Strong expertise in:
- Breach and Lock Heat Exchangers

- Proven experience in handling large manufacturing teams and plant operations
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coordination capabilities
