About our business

You will be responsible for one or both of the following:

1. Product improvements based on user feedback

PayPay is used by over 65 million users and in stores all over Japan. Even small problems or confusion with the product can have a big impact (increased dropout rates, increased social media posts, increased inquiries, increased response costs, etc.). We work with the customer support department to detect problems early, identify essential issues, and implement a cycle of product improvement.

[Specific work content]

  • If the development scale is large, we share the issues with the product manager in charge and ask for improvements.
  • If the development scale is small, you will compile the requirements yourself, manage the project, and handle release/evaluation.

2. Fraud prevention measures

Protecting over 65 million users from fraud. PayPay’s services continue to evolve and become an indispensable part of people’s daily lives, but they are also becoming an increasingly attractive target for financial criminals. As a product manager, I will leverage the power of data and technology, which PayPay excels at, to create a secure system with a UX that is easy for anyone to use.

[Specific work content]

  • Login authentication function product management
  • Devise measures to prevent fraudulent payments and incorporate them into the system. * (Note) The development of the fraud detection engine is handled by a different department, and skills in AI or machine learning are not required.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Experience in system planning or product management related to Internet services (1 year or more)
  • Experience in system development project management (management from development to release) (1 year or more)
  • Technical skills to read and understand API specifications and external specifications and correctly define requirements in detail
  • Japanese (native Japanese or equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1)
  • English (enough to communicate by email or internal chat)

Desirable experience/skills

  • Experience in system planning or product management related to Internet services (5 years or more)
  • Experience in system development project management (management from development to release) (5 years or more)
  • Development engineer experience (1 year or more)
  • Growth Hacker Experience
  • UI/UX design experience
  • Data-driven project experience
  • Experience in internet fraud prevention
  • Payment industry business knowledge
  • English (Business Level)

Location

Working hours

  • Super flextime system (no core time)
  • In principle: 10:00am to 6:45pm (7 hours 45 minutes of actual work + 1 hour break)

  • Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, New Year’s holidays, and company designated days

Holidays (statutory holidays and company benefits)

  • Annual paid leave (14 days in the first year, allocated proportionately according to the month of joining the company. Can be used from the day of joining the company)

Salary

  • Annual salary system (including some fixed overtime pay)
  • Determined according to company regulations based on experience, skills, achievements, and contributions
  • Reviewed once a year
  • Special lump-sum payments (incentives) based on company performance and individual contributions (once a year)
  • Overtime allowance, night shift allowance, and telecommuting allowance (100,000 yen per year) available
