(DFS) is a mortgage originator for single family real estate. DFS originates two main loan products – a short term bridge loan for fix & flip investors, and a long-term rental loan for landlords growing their rental portfolios. DFS is thriving in the current competitive environment and shows aggressive quarterly growth. Our current origination volume is $70MM per month. DFS is looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal and Loan Document Specialist to join our growing team.
This Paralegal/Loan Document Specialist is responsible for the accurate and complete preparation and review of commercial real estate loan documents utilizing the private lender’s document preparation system.

In This Role You Will
- Prepares and reviews documents for secured commercial loan transactions within the system for all 50 states.
- Verify loan input accuracy.
- Knowledge of loan terminology and elements/process required to close a loan.
- Evaluates corporate documentation such as Articles of Incorporation, Operating Agreements, resolutions and/or By Laws to determine or validate the identified signers for the transaction.
- Investigates and resolves basic document questions.
- Ensures that the documents requested comply with lender and states’ policies and that document packages are complete to minimize the risk of loss to the private lender.
- Maintains primary responsibility for accuracy of documentation, timely delivery of documents, and elimination of controllable re-work.
- Assist and support the General Counsel as needed with legal and other functions of the business.
- Support General Counsel with drafting and reviewing various contracts
- Conducts general transactional activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Has a good working knowledge of Federal and State compliance regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in commercial loan documentation preparation and review
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Salesforce
- Ability to redline documents.
