Category Manager | Quince | Remote (United States)
Job Description
As a Category Manager at Quince, you will take ownership of 1-2 of Quince’s categories (e.g., sweaters, bedding, outerwear, jewelry, and more). In this role, you will work cross-functionally to support the growth and profitability of your assigned categories. You’ll collaborate with teams in merchandising, sourcing, forecasting, inventory planning, and marketing to help drive success. This position requires strong teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to build relationships across various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve category revenue and margin targets, focusing on scaling growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in merchandising, sourcing, marketing, inventory, and logistics to streamline day-to-day operations and improve category performance.
- Identify and address bottlenecks and opportunities to enhance category growth, actively participating in problem-solving and task execution as needed.
- Use marketing performance metrics to support the creation of category-specific growth marketing plans aimed at maximizing return on ad spend.
- Monitor and report on weekly performance goals and key metrics.
- Stay informed on market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategies.
- Help build and manage budgetary and resource allocation plans.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience total: Ideally combination of experience across investment banking/consulting + 2-3 years in a non-strategy operational role (preferably in retail or e-commerce)
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated through IBD, consulting, or MBA
- Late-stage startup experience preferred; growth marketing experience is a significant plus
- Proven track record of driving impactful results, not just project management
- Exceptional tenacity and willingness to tackle challenges beyond typical scope
- Strong sense of ownership, hunger, and ambition
- Experience in managing cross-functional projects across global teams
