Job Overview
The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into six functions: Acquisition, Lifecycle, Brand & Social, Merchandising, PMM, Communications & Content. These functions are currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced consumer marketer to join the Merchandising team. The ideal candidate has the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while managing competing deadlines under time constraints and deliver results. You’re not only an expert operator, but also a strategist, capable of analyzing trends, making data-driven decisions, testing new initiatives to improve KPIs, and driving growth.
Responsibilities
- Omnichannel go-to-market campaigns: Develop comprehensive marketing strategies and plans to promote our content effectively. This includes creating compelling go-to-market campaigns, defining target audiences, developing value propositions, and working with cross functional teams to expertly execute campaigns that drive results.
- Strategic promotions: Lead the strategy and execution of promotions at Coursera. Manage the promotional calendar, build and execute large omni channel campaigns, analyze performance, and deliver against company goals.
- Content merchandising: Conduct data-driven experimentation to improve content merchandising across the site and improve performance of key merchandising surfaces. Build and test marketing landing pages, run homepage merchandising experiments, and leverage data to create segmentation and merchandising strategies that surface the right content to the right learners at the right time.
- Content optimization: Identify opportunities to strengthen content offering through improved visual merchandising, messaging, differentiation, and positioning. Write copy and work closely with the creative team to develop persuasive and informative description pages, and other marketing collateral for new and existing programs.
- Content trends and campaign management: Identify content trends, curate content priorities, and lead thematic marketing campaigns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as paid media, social media, and email to develop and execute high impact integrated campaigns. Monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in merchandising, consumer marketing, or product marketing
- Demonstrated history of strong analytical skills and data driven decision making
- Experience with leading large scale go-to-market campaigns
- Demonstrated history managing multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and delivering results
- Experience with analytics tools such as Looker or Amplitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with marketing experimentation
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive actionable insights
- Experience with tools such as Braze, A/B testing tools
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
