Eminent Domain Associate | Fawkes IDM | Remote (United States)
Job Description
The successful candidate will be based in California and will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation on issues pertaining to eminent domain.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and other court documents
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other legal proceedings
- Prepare and present evidence at administrative and judicial hearings
- Advise clients on legal issues related to eminent domain, including valuation, compensation, and eminent domain law
- Collaborate with other legal professionals, including paralegals and other attorneys
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of cases, ensuring that all deadlines are met
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the California Bar
- 4+ years’ complex litigation experience, with public agency acquisitions, eminent domain and inverse condemnation litigation
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sound judgment and problem-solving ability
