Within Growth Engineering, we have a dedicated team called the Categories Team. This team focuses on building and maintaining all web-based user experiences for each treatment category offered by Hims & Hers, including Sexual Health, Weight Management, Mental Health, Dermatology, and more. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead this talented team of Frontend Engineers, shaping the long-term vision and strategy for their work.
This is a pivotal leadership role, where you’ll be a hands-on leader, fostering a collaborative environment while driving high-impact initiatives. Your work will directly impact our bottom line and support the care of millions of patients.
You Will:
- Lead, motivate, and develop your engineering team, fostering a growth mindset and providing opportunities for professional development.
- Develop and execute product roadmap, aligning priorities and goals through collaboration with technical leads and product managers.
- Partner cross-functionally across Engineering, Product, Design, Analytics, Telemedicine, and other stakeholders to deliver patient-centric web solutions.
- Implement and manage processes to ensure efficient and effective execution and delivery.
- Lead the adoption of modern web technologies and architectural strategies, staying ahead of the curve in this dynamic field.
- Drive prioritization and trade-offs in defining the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Ensure rigorous quality assurance practices within an agile development environment, balancing on-time delivery without compromising quality.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying and implementing solutions that enhance platform scalability and performance.
You Have:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering, leading teams to deliver in high-pressure environments (e.g. tight deadlines, evolving requirements). Expertise in modern web technologies and frameworks (React, Next, GraphQL, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Experience designing, building, and scaling web platforms for high-traffic applications, requiring the ability to prioritize effectively and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Clear and concise communication skills, adept at bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
- A self-starter with a strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.
- A passionate collaborator with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a focus on execution.
