Job Description

MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.

Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA, as well as East Providence, RI and Denver, CO.

We’re making new and exciting things – and we could really do with your help.

As we expand our product range, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our operational engineering efforts. Bringing together the digital world of software with the physical world within operations, your remit will extend across the whole system. This role is crucial in driving the development, optimisation, and launch of new physical products within our operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering across three teams and two technology platforms, ensuring a smooth flow of high impact delivery and operational excellence
  • Accountable for building, maintaining and running the technology that drives our in-house fulfilment and shipping and our Order Fulfilment Network
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive engineering culture where diversity is celebrated, and all team members feel valued, understood, and supported.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the team, ensuring the adoption of best practices and adherence to wider Architectural standards, while embracing diverse perspectives and approaches.
  • Contributing to wider engineering goals and architecture as part of the Senior Engineering Leadership team
  • Continuously evolve your teams and structure of your organisation alongside the Head of Product
  • Drive the reduction in size and complexity of our legacy technology stack across Operations
  • Continuously improve team and operational metrics
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring diverse voices are heard and included, to help push business objectives forward.

About You

  • An experienced manager of managers, with proven experience in engineering leadership of teams between 10 – 25
  • Experience partnering with Product and UXD teams and effective supporter of Agile principles
  • Experience working with diverse Stakeholders
  • A keen interest Operational processes, particularly in manufacturing, shipping, fulfilment or supply chain.
  • Effective communication, collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Willingness to travel around the UK and to the US about 20% of the year
