Position Title: Legal Recruiter (Remote)

Contract: Full-time, Independent Contractor (6-months)

Location:  UK, Europe, or South America (agility to work EST time-zone)

Salary:  Salary is dependent on location and experience of candidate

A well-established and growing international law firm is looking for a recruiter to focus on associate, attorney roles in the US (and someone who is able to support the professional services recruitment team). Legal experience is preferred and ideally, the successful candidate will have worked in the US legal market.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Legal Recruiter to join our growing in-house team. The role is initially for 6-months to help the team manage some volume recruitment, there may be a potential to extend. The ideal candidate will have between 2 to 5 years of experience in legal recruitment and possess a thorough understanding of the legal markets – the focus of this role will predominantly be directly sourcing US attorney talent; pipelining future talent; providing robust MI to Partner team. This role is critical to identifying, attracting, and hiring top legal talent to support the growth and success of our organization. We work predominantly with US based attorneys, therefore the successful candidate will need to be flexible to working US Eastern Time hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract high-quality legal professionals.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods within their recruitment strategy, especially, direct sourcing, social media, and job boards.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and legal team leaders.
  • Provide timely feedback and recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs and priorities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Stay informed about legal market trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve recruitment processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices in legal recruitment and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment records and candidate databases.

Knowledge and attributes:

  • 2-5 years of experience in legal recruitment, either in-house or with a recruitment agency (both is desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of legal markets and the ability to source candidates directly (360 recruitment experience, talent attraction, acquisition, pipelining, screening experience)
  • Proficiency with recruitment software and applicant tracking systems (we use Greenhouse ATS).
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations related to recruitment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Pays attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of the recruitment process are executed accurately.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively convey information to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Proactive. Someone who takes initiative and is proactive in identifying and addressing recruitment challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Builds and maintains positive relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and team members.
  • Analytical Thinker: Capable of analyzing market trends and recruitment data to inform decision-making.
  • Organized: Highly organized, able to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously and work, at pace, to meet deadlines.
  • Resilient: Able to handle rejection and setbacks with a positive attitude and persistently pursue recruitment goals.
