Mission behind the role

In this role, you will build, scale, and maintain our internal tooling and cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, enhancing the efficiency and ease of feature development for other teams. You’ll collaborate with information security and compliance teams to ensure best practices in security, data protection, and system reliability. As part of a dynamic and growing team, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation in the related fields of Cloud, SRE, DevOps, and Platform Engineering. You will play a key role in achieving Enfuce’s goal of building scalable and secure payment solutions.

What will you be doing?

A typical day might involve:

• Continuously improving system security measures, tools, and processes through a metrics and data driven approach

• Leading or participating in vulnerability and penetration testing activities and designing fixes for any issues found

• Collaborating with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, drive process improvements, and effect change

• Ensuring that best practices in observability, reliability are followed as wells as designing and implementing scalable solutions so that other teams can adopt these practices with minimal effort

• Managing deployments and configurations of various AWS services with CDK or cloudformation, such as S3, Lambda, Aurora, Fargate, ECS, WAF, ELB, DynamoDB etc.

• Coaching others doing a similar role and providing feedback on code reviews

• Analysing network designs to ensure security best practices are applied

• Documenting system designs, usage instructions, processes and procedures

• Helping teammates by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and participating in our tech officer/on-call rotations

• Lead discussions on appropriate SLO/SLAs for various services

• Reviewing incidents and other service disruption patterns to identify improvements needed in our systems and in how we operate and design software.

• Participating in roadmap, strategy, and planning activities

Ideal candidates will have:

• Experience building and running applications in AWS, preferably in object oriented languages
• Experience managing infrastructure as code using CDK or similar
• Experience with deploying and running Docker/OCI containers in production environments
• Solid grasp of networking concepts
• Growth mindset, curious to learn about card issuing and the payments industry
• Excellent communication in English and great collaboration skills
• Comfortable coaching other engineers and providing feedback on code reviews

Nice to have but not vital to have experience with the following:

• Prior background in payments industry
• Proficient in one of the following: Java (spring boot) or TypeScript
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab
• AWS professional certification

This position is located remotely across Europe. We also have offices in Finland and London which you can work from.

How we’re going to evaluate your application

We will put emphasis on your previous work experience, your ability to communicate, code and design effectively, through 3 short interviews with some Enfuce engineers, and several opportunities to ask questions and learn about Enfuce along the way.
