Role Overview:
This middle-level management role will report to the Service Area Lead within the Solution Engineering organization and will be based in Colombia, Costa Rica, or the United States. This role will be crucial for driving talent development and delivery readiness within the service area, ensuring we possess the right skills and capabilities to meet our clients’ needs. The Practice Lead will balance their time between internal efforts to operate the practice and external efforts to serve clients within their respective area of practice, with key responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Strategy and Delivery Readiness:
*Set the strategy for training and development within the service area.*Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the firm.*Oversee hiring, promotions, and the development of existing employees in the service area.*Champion and lead the training and development of employees to understand client needs and propose appropriate solutions.*Develop a talent readiness plan to ensure the right number of people with the right skills are available to serve clients in the service area.*Capability Management:Survey market trends and the competitive landscape for emerging capability needs in the service area.*Maintain an inventory of the capabilities needed to strengthen and sustain the service area and solution-based delivery.*Enlist experts to fill Capability Lead roles for each capability.*Oversee Capability Leads in maintaining a skills matrix with specific skills required for each Capability in the service area.

Solution Engineering Leadership:
*Participate as an active and engaged member of the Solution Engineering Leadership Team.*Keenly evaluate the strengths and development areas of Capability Leads in the service area, and report findings quarterly to service area and delivery leadership.*Provide comprehensive, transparent, and timely feedback to Capability Leads and other team members to foster a learning culture.

Talent Development:
*Partner with other Practice Leads and Delivery leadership to hone and maintain an expectations framework for Delivery talent across the firm.*Outline talent development plans to address skill needs and strengthen delivery readiness.*Support Delivery leadership in periodically evaluating service area talent, including strengths and development areas, as part of routine delivery or the annual review process.*Provide formal written input on Capability Leads as part of the annual review process for each Capability Lead in the service area.
Recruitment and Evaluation:
*Partner with talent acquisition to identify and prioritize required skills for job applicants.*Define and implement an interview process for all levels of Delivery resources in the service area.*Schedule, conduct, and oversee job interviews to assess analytical and technical skills.*Evaluate the readiness of existing employees for promotion within the service area.

Additional Responsibilities:
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage remote teams effectively.*Willingness to travel occasionally to client locations in the United States or Gorilla Logic offices in San Jose, Costa Rica or Medellin, Colombia as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:*5+ years of professional services experience delivering solutions for clients in the relevant service area.*3+ years of experience in hiring and facilitating talent development.*Proven ability to create a culture of continuous learning and development.*Strong people management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing teams.*Experience in building and maintaining a skills matrix and talent readiness plan.*Expertise in partnering with talent acquisition to identify and prioritize required skills for job applicants.*Strong interviewing skills, including resume screening, technical assessments, and behavioral interviews.*Ability to define and implement an objective and comprehensive evaluation framework for job applicants and internal promotion candidates.*Excellent analytical and technical skills, with a keen ability to evaluate talent.*Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.*Ability to provide clear and transparent feedback.*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage remote teams effectively.
