Job Description
As an Internal Product Trainer at Formstack, you will be instrumental in educating and upskilling our teams. Your primary focus will be on delivering product training to new hires and existing Stackers, guiding teams through new product launches and releases, and enhancing technical skills across the company.
An internal hire for this role is strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Launch and Release Training: As a member of the Launch & Release Squad, participate in regular meetings to discuss upcoming L&R, advocate for product training needs throughout the organization, and partner with Product Marketing on tasks associated with preparing and delivering training sessions to various groups, ensuring all teams are informed of and sufficiently knowledgable of in the latest features.
- Technical Knowledge/ Skill Development: In partnership with functional leaders, design and implement training programs to enhance the technical product knowledge and skills of various teams within the company.
- New Hire Product Training: Develop and conduct comprehensive onboarding training for new employees, ensuring they have a solid understanding of Formstack’s products and services.
- Curriculum Development: Create engaging training materials, including workshops, manuals, videos, and interactive e-learning modules. Regularly audit product-related training materials, updating or archiving content as needed across platforms.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Regularly gather feedback from trainees and other stakeholders to assess training effectiveness and engagement and make continuous improvements.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interdepartmental collaboration is key in this role. Work closely with product managers, product marketing, customer enablement, sales enablement, OD, functional leaders, and the Launch & Release Squad to stay updated on product changes, support training needs analysis, advise on training interventions, and deliver training solutions.
- Training Administration: Coordinate training schedules, track participation, and maintain records of training activities. Own quality control and optimization for internal product training assets.
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated product expertise or the ability to quickly acquire deep product knowledge.
- Experience developing and/or delivering training or creating shared learning or reference materials (even if just for your own team).
- Understanding of adult learning principles, modern training techniques, and instructional design (or desire to transition into a learning and development role and obtain these skills).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Ability to work semi-independently and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously (with support/guidance).
- Ability to quickly adapt to and administer new technologies (e.g. learning management systems, instructional design and digital training tools).
- Proven success collaborating cross-departmentally and developing productive internal partnerships.
$55,000 – $78,000 a year
